The newness factor/honeymoon period is going to attract a lot of locals who have nothing better to do in town on a Friday night. 99% of the fans at the place probably couldn't name CU's head coach and are only there to see the new ballpark or taking part in Buy 1, Get 3 Free Night.

These numbers should be expected but will quickly fall back to reality when the newness wears off.

I must say that Creighton has timed it perfect. They have one of the best years in their entire history coinciding with a move to a new ballpark = perfect storm.

I saw the Valley Tourney ticket prices. They seem cheaper than what Eck had. That should equate to much bigger crowds, right?

I didn't see anything in there that stated where all tickets purchased by people with a 316 area code would be confined to the left-field bleachers, or worst-available. There are a ton of good seats in the picture, on "the big night".

I can assure everyone that I will not attend a college baseball game this year. No bandwagon or honeymoon from MVJ.

How ironic. Shockers win Game 1 of the series 8-0, in the 20-year anniversary season of Creighton's greatest team ever. A season in which the Shockers went 8-0 against the Mighty Jays.

Shox take the first game from the BJ's, 8 - nill.

The un-hittable Ty Blech gives up 13 hits and 6 earned runs, Belch had not lost since May 10, 2010, also against WSU.

BJ's throw their ace today, Jones Dufus (7-1, 2.33 ERA) and the Shockers do not stand a chance.

Contenders or Pretenders, we will find out by Sunday afternoon.

On this day 66 years ago Germany surrendered. How ironic that the Jays beat unbeatable WSU today.

Also very classy of Gene to ask the umpire to check the bat of soon to be player of the year Trever Adams.

Ah, the BJ's win a game against WSU for the first time in 6 tries, and something like 3rd time out of the last 15 and here they start coming out.

Best season in Creighton history and they're gonna have to win the Valley tourney to get in the field. Johnny Coy definitely wishes he would have chose those high caliber birds instead.
