The Detroit Tigers called up former Wichita State outfielder Andy Dirks on Friday afternoon.

Dirks, who attended Haven High, played two seasons at WSU after transferring from Hutchinson Community College. In 2008, he hit .388 with 11 home runs and 26 stolen bases for the Shockers, helping them to a super regional.
