Johnny Coy - Creighton basketball fan

Listening to yesterdays post game interviews and Johnny Coy commented on the Qwest Center and said he's a Creighton basketball fan. It's too bad we didn't have a scholarship for him when he decided to leave Arizona State. Sounds like a great young man.

Turns out that he really believes that his future is in baseball so let's just say that drastically reduced his options once he left Arizona State.

Right. If a scholarship was available he'd be playing for a team trending upward in the MVC and college baseball's best stadium.

Right. Isn't his goal to play pro baseball? Which baseball program in the MVC has turned out more pro players?

Obviously if his only goal was to attend a school that would improve his chances of playing profesionally, he would have stayed at Arizona State. Or better yet, he would have gone pro after being drafted in high school.

Isn't Creighton's first baseman better than Johnny Coy?

Johnny Coy - Creighton basketball fan hrmm... He must have become a fan watching them play in the NCAA's growing up in Missouri?? OR... it could be that he became a "BJ fan" the second HCGM told him to man up and show up for practice instead of whining about the difficulty of playing duel sports. After Johnnie decided it was too hawwwd, Gregg yanked his scholarship and the love affair with our regional rival began. It's funny he is still pissed about that.. It was his choice.

I don't know if Johnnie goes to any Shocker basketball games. If he does, he must be green as hell spectating in one of college basketball's greatest environments and knowing he could have been playing in it.

Maybe Gene should sit Johnny for today's championship game. What are the chances he would intentionally screw up several plays to help out his beloved BlueJays?

Or, maybe he will have the game of his life just to spite the team that prevented him from fulfilling his dream of constantly finishing below WSU in the conference basketball standings during his career.
