You can see where the Creighton Bluejays will be seeded on Monday at 11:30am, when ESPN televises the tournament selection show. Creighton officials indicated that they hope to claim a 2 seed in the regional tournament, although some expect a 3 seed in the four team bracket that will be announced on Monday.

Projecting the NCAA baseball field is an inexact science because the host sites are determined by variables such as RPI, attendance figures, etc. There's only a handful of places where you can find tournament projections. One that I found has Creighton heading to Corvallis, Oregon. When I have more time, I'll see what else I can find or please offer your own thoughts.

Corvallis Regional:

Oregon State

Fresno State

Creighton

Gonzaga

Here's another:

Fullerton Regional:

Cal State Fullerton

UCLA

Creighton

Stony Brook

2011 NCAA BASEBALL TOURNAMENT FULLY-SEEDED PROJECTION
(based primarily on the CB360 Composite National Rankings; slight corrections made to avoid certain conference matchups)
Vanderbilt is the new #1 team in the Composite National rankings and would be paired up in its home Regional with Alcorn State (#64 “seed”), plus Creighton and Coastal Carolina (the #32 and #33 teams in the current CB360 top-50/CNR). Essentially, the combined seeds in all of the day-1 matchups listed below add up to 65 (prior to modifications to keep conference rivals apart in the earlygoing).

(1) Vanderbilt
Creighton
Coastal Carolina
Alcorn State

Rice
Oklahoma
Mississippi
Stony Brook

Does it really matter if you are a 2 versus a 3? Don't you end up in pretty much the same place...on the opposite side of the bracket from the #1 in a 4 team pod?

This would especially seem true if you were just barely in or out as a 2 versus a 3 as I am guessing they play the lowest rated 2 against the top 3 with the 2 that just barely missed being a 1 taking on the lowest rated 3.

Can't say I know how the NCAA does their thing.

Can say that last night was a ton of fun!!!!

There's nothing even remotely local so I'm not sure it matters where CU gets sent. If they can avoid a top 8 team in their bracket, that would be good enough I think.

Looks like they'll be in one of the 9-16 brackets.
