The Bears started play in the Texas State tournament yesterday in San Marcos

The field includes the Bears, Texas State, Sam Houston State, and Tulane.

All four teams finished in the top 73 of the RPI last year and Sam Houston State won the Southland Conference regular season

The Bears took their first game against Texas State yesterday in eleven innings by the score of 3-2. Texas State then beat Tulane 2-0 earlier today

The Bears are currently up on Sam Houston 2-0 in the bottom of the 5th inning. Cody Schumacher has struck out 8 in 5 innings of work so far

Bears fall to the Green Wave 6-4. Decent start to the season for the Valley favorites but the team is hitting .179 after three games. This is a grave concern. Keenen Maddux has struggled and so has Tate Matheny which is disappointing. Would have loved to sweep to announce our presence with authority. We'll had down to Hattiesburg next week to take on a really good Southern Miss ballclub and a couple of other scrubs in a tournament. Should learn more next week.
