Skip to (21:07) in the Podcast. Jon Rothstein is hearing that the MVC is still targeting Valpo and Murray State and from what he is hearing that VALPO is the MORE LIKELY of the 2.

Who needs a "magic cure all"? Murray been ranked in the top 25 and top 10 in two different seasons in the last 6 years. Just had a down year or two between losing our head coach to Iowa State and a sophomore PG to NBA. It was a perfect storm but don't count on that continuing. History says otherwise and our record vs MVC competition is solid the last decade. We are a good catch for the MVC and will do well.

How many times has Murray been in the Sweet Sixteen? Why has all of this excellence you speak of not translated into success in the Big Dance? Could it be because you play in a very weak conference, and your win/loss record is a reflection of such? How many times has Murray been to the Dance since Belmont joined the OVC? SIU is as bad as they have ever been and you have not even beaten them the last two years.

Prepare for a major dose of reality if you get in the MVC, even in it's current, emaciated state.

How many times has Creighton? They certainly weren't dominating the Valley, but it wasn't like they were struggling to stay near the top either.

I'm not in for a "major dose of reality" lmao as I have watched us beat more MVC teams than we lost to in my 40+ years following Racer basketball. Reality my friend is we hold a winning record all time and the last decade versus your conference.

I caution you to see the difference between a one off non-con game versus the grind of a double round robin.

I have no doubt that Murray State would be a good add and be successful but there is a learning curve when you make a step up in level.

Agreed, just pointing out that we aren't exactly chopped liver.

BTW, I don't think any of us can predict what the schools will ultimately vote to do behind closed doors. Programs tend to do what is good for their programs and not so much what is good for everyone else. We have seen that first hand in our dealings with the rest of the OVC.

I do believe that both Murray State (and Valpo) will be very competitive in the Valley but will go
through some growing pains at first. This is a tough league to win road games hence the nickname
"Valley of Death."
