It looks like Zach Lofton will be joining former MVC transfer Joey King at the University of Minnesota.
Congrats to Zach, look forward to seeing his career develop.
Pitino and staff are very excited about him.

Who is Jigga and why does he post on here? Seems to be an anti-Valley fan. does anybody get the impression that mid-majors are becoming farm teams where players try out for FBS schools? They seem like they don't sit out a year a lot of times; ie Joey King .

Jigga is Zach Lofton's uncle or manager or something. Go check out the Redbird messageboard to get a good grip on him.

If mid-majors are farm teams, and the BCS schools keep calling up the Joey King's and Zach Lofton's of the world, then the pro clubs really suck with talent evaluation.

What does my affliation with him matter on this message board?

I'm pretty sure Pitino is a better judge of talent than you.

Joey King actually had a productive Sophmore season for them on there way to being NIT Champs.

Anyways it just became official a few minutes ago, he's a Gopher.

Affiliation often lends perspective to bias.

I am not, nor have I claimed to be, a collegiate-level evaluator of talent. That does not make my evaluation any less valuable than yours. I have history and statistics on my side. You have the previous opinion of one extremely young head coach and the current opinion of another extremely young head coach on your side.Who is to say which is more right? In my case, at the very least, bias did not play a role in reaching a conclusion.

Lofton sure seemed like a head case when I saw him play in Spfld. He had quite the temper tantrum and Muller benched him the rest of the game. Redbirds may be better off without him from a chemistry standpoint.

Far from Anti-MVC, if you go to the start of the thread you see, I hoped Lofton stayed a Redbird.
just so happens I'm from MN and a Gopher fan as well.

I had no idea zl would land in MN with King.

But I think its good for him, things didn't work out in the Valley, hopefully they will elsewhere.

Also Cdizzle,
everybody has bias.
The only conclusion I drew from this thread is that Lofton seemed likely and now is a Gopher
and that I like his game.

but ok. I geuss we are not allowed to express our opinions on message boards anymore.

That is four MVC transfers to the Big Ten the last few seasons. Used to be the other way around.

Good luck to Zach, but I agree that ISU will be fine without him, regardless of what he does for the Gophers. I would personally want players on my team that I could count on day-in and day-out and Zach did not appear to be one of those. But none of us actually know since we were not with the team on a day-to-day basis. Coach Muller and Zach just did not appear to click so time to move on.

I'm also not a fan of players who need to put up a ton of shots to get their points. I do think ISU will have more talent next year than they did this year, but their guards need to shoot higher percentages (which I think they will).
