Rumor has it that SIU has hired a new assistant basketball coach to replace Pat Monaghan, who went to UW-Green Bay. And there's a tint of Orange and Blue to it.

It's really easy to recruit to Kansas or Texas.

How do you convince kids to come play brutally slow basketball with no offensive plan?

Yes. And he probably won't have access to "potential benefits" that he had available at Texas and Kansas.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Smells like your gargoyle’s cage needs cleaning. Please attend to that.

Busy cleaning the MVC Champs Banner at the moment.

If you don’t think Mullins feels some heat you are kidding yourself.

Color me intrigued. No guarantees it works out but it’s a bold and surprising hire to pull off at a time when the program needs a jolt.

Given how low about the program I felt a week ago, this would be a welcome surprise. There's no doubt though there needs to be adjustments on the offensive end but I give credit that they're taking a swing to try. They easily could have played it safe with the 3rd assistant.

This is a good point as well.
