NDSU fans need a :buddies: right now. If you are getting bitch slapped by Arkon probably not ready for the MVC. They should probably stick to the Summit where they can pad their records against the IPFW's of the world.

and by knocking off akron, wouldnt that help mvc's bubble teams? :buddies:

Good call.

You need to start worrying about beating MAC opponents first.

MVC: 1
WCC: 1
Atlantic Ten: 1
MWC: 1
Big East: 1

The Big East is Big Time.

RealTimeRPI has Akron as a 12 point favorite going into the game....NDSU couldn't live up to being a 12 point dog to a MAC school....

Clearly ready to dominate the MVC.

I don't see the correlation between not fielding a football team and basketball success.

For the first: How does UNI have more NCAA success than WSU? Both have one Sweet 16 run and no other tournament wins in past 10 years.

For the second: Well, there's a correlation between fielding a football team and funding a basketball team adequately. Whether funding the basketball team equates to basketball success is another matter :D

UNI has played in several more games than you which means they have earned more NCAA credits than you, so yes, that is more success.

And WSU and CU are in much larger cities than the other schools so it could be said that they have larger fanbases because of their location so the larger attendence/more donations which lead to the higher budgets is due to their location, not to the fact that they don't play football.

Sign what? A death certificate for the MVC?

There are some really nice folks associated with NDSU. Got to see some of them when they came to Normal for the last football game of the season and I liked them. Lakesbison seems like an odd fit to them because he is an irritating troll on multiple message boards. If NDSU ever got the chance to make a presentation to any conference they should leave Lakesbison somewhere along the Canadian border.

Making the NCAA tournament is not "NCAA success." You make the tournament or you miss the tournament based on your regular season profile, or your conference tournament success. Losing in the first round is not NCAA success. By all means, it's a successful season, but you actually have to do something in the tournament to consider it success IN the tournament.

You're comparing different things. Getting an appearance in the NCAA tournament is done before it begins. Being successful in the tournament starts when the tournament starts.

UNI does not have more wins in the tournament, so no, that is not more success IN the tournament. That is more success in the regular season.

If you'd like to argue that beating the #1 seed Kansas gives them higher quality NCAA wins, that is a valid argument.
