I thought UNI might have a chance based on the first half, but they are getting boat raced in the 2nd half. Tossing up bricks.

Good first half effort. But bad shooting night and Syracuse hitting bombs from everywhere

Anthony James a bright spot for the Panthers.

Jake Koch has never really been a true "post" player in either HS or College and it shows.

Just looked at the box score. Wow. And Syracuse isn't known for their defense either.. :o

Actually, their coach has kind of made a Hall of fame career out of his 2-3 zone defense. Or at least 830 wins worth.

Doesn't matter if you can't shoot better than 18% from deep (6-33). Was a solid effort in the 1st half and that was our opportunity to open up a lead to put the pressure on the home team, but we couldn't hit enough shots to make it happen. Syracuse put on a run early in the second to open it up and we were never able to chip away (not that we've ever been a great comeback team anyways).

Take the loss, learn from the tape and move on.

Their coach is known for having a team comprised of NBA draft picks that can score and score in bunches. The 2-3 zone is a cover-up IMO for not caring much about the defense. Any decent outside shooting teams can murder them in it. Boeheim is known for playing zone, but not being good at it.

I don't care if Syracuse is known for strong defense or not, we played like crap offensively. I'm not worried about our defense. We're still solid there, just need to have a couple guys decide they are going to step up and score. Koch could be that guy, but he was in foul trouble much of the game.

Is it me, or does Tim Higgins just call fouls because he's tired and needs a rest (too many fouls on both teams tonight)?
