fast forward to 1:21 min mark NDSU AD Matt Larson talks about MVC.

says "im told NDSU should be mountain west, mac, big 12.... but Im not gonna force an invite from MVC"

"if MVC would just add NDSU as 1, he could see it happen, but Valpo sounds like their are in, so when they go to multiple offers, they are looking long term for private schools as well"

"earlier in show I am quoted about going mountain west." apparently NDSU play by play guy thinks NDSU shouldnt even go after MVC invite

I know your post is old, but it is funny. You do realize that if anyone goes to the link and listens they are going to hear the NDSU AD make fun of guys like you? Guys who think NDSU can simply impose their will because they have such a mighty program in FB?

You also get to hear AD Larson discuss the reality that the MVC is not going to even look at NDSU due to geography alone? He also states, that due to the geography issue alone there is no way NDSU would/could get an individual invite because the MVC sees itself as a bus league. He also mentions, that on the outside chance they were interested NDSU, the school would NOT get an invite minus at least one school bridging the geographical divide.

May I suggest that you actually listen to what Larson had to say and not what you wanted him to say? And what Culhane had to say, he thought Murray's public pleading to get into the Valley was demeaning to their institution and harming to their relationship with the OVC. For once I agree with him.

NDSU softball going to 8th NCAA in 9 years
NDSU Track Womens have won conference 10 years in a row (20 including indoor)
NDSU Track Mens have won conference 8 years in a row

Yea, why would the MVC want that.

Total List on conference titles here: http://www.bisonville.com/forum/showthr ... nce-titles)

Obviously the MVC doesn't have the foresight of all the other top level mid major conferences that are lined up to beg you to join. Oh wait, there aren't any........

I hate to pile on, as I don't mind NDSU at all, but talk about 'best of the worst' in regards to Softball. Every single Summit League team had a losing record, with NDSU taking second in the regular season (11-7), and first in the conference tourney at 28-31 overall.

Easily the weakest ndsu softball team in the last 10 years. Several 40+ win teams in that span, like the team that won the Oklahoma Regional in 2010. Last year's bison softball team was 8-2 vs the B1G, but this year was down with lots of youth.

If you look at the Bison Ooc schedule you'll see a lot of high level early season competition which resulted in quite a few L's while young players were getting their feet wet. Where's the comp on Valpo's Sch? Pretty OVc, MVC, Summit and Horizon heavy.

Did you look at ndsu's SB schedule, obviously not.

USCar, ole Ms, Florida, Auburn, ULL, Ohio st, MN, Rutgers, Fullerton, Utah St, BC, Missouri, AZ . . .

Vs. Valpo's

Alabama, ?

You are correct, this was a down year regarding OOC scheduling for our softball team. We have plenty of previous success 2-3 years before this last season, but are now in year 3 with a new coach that has taken us back to our winning ways (28-23 this season, including that 1-0 loss at #9 Alabama early in the season). We went to the NCAA tourney last season with a losing record, similar to NDSU this season.

Of note, we were 3-0 versus the Summit this season, including a 7-3 victory over your regular season champion, IUPUI. We had another win versus South Dakota 5-4, who finished 10-8 in your conference, as well as a 3-1 victory against South Dakota State, who was second to last.

If we go with direct comparisons in the regular season, NDSU went 1-2 against IUPUI, 1-2 against South Dakota, and 3-0 versus SDSU (5-4 total). We were 3-0. We win :buddies:!

If what you were arguing was any semblance of the truth, I would be happy to concede. But alas, it is not.

NDSU had a terrible season by their standards and a crappy RPI of 155, but they are still 50+ clear of Valpos RPI, and you had with a winning record. What does that tell you. Play ndsu's OOC schedule, then get back to me. Ndsu clearly the better team in 2017 based on any objective measure.
