USI was Indiana State Evansville from 1965-1985 as a satellite campus of INSU. It took a governor from Evansville to grant the school its independence.
The Sycamore ran into a highly motivated USI team in a packed arena on the road. I don't think Neese would have made any difference and to deem the loss unacceptable is an over exaggeration.

SIU has been nothing above mediocre for the last 16 years, and it looks good to make 17 this year. Considering Edwardsville is the premier campus now, switching you for them is the first move we should make.

The difference is that SIU loses more students to dropouts than UE has enrolled. SIUE would be better than UE too!
