Official MVCfans.com Prediction - 5th Place

Postby MVCfans » September 13th, 2010, 6:07 am

Each week we will open a poll for users to predict the end of season finish for the MVC 2010-2011 basketball season. We will work in reverse order, concluding with the predicted MVC champion chosen by our users between the last two teams remaining in week 9 (just in time for MVC media days).

Last week, Indiama State was predicted to finish in 6th place.

A prediction of 5th could really be the difference of a single conference win from 2nd place. It's going to be one heck of a season and probably come down to the last game of the regular season to see how Arch Madness seedings breakdown.
University of Northern Iowa Class of 2000....however, an overall fan of the Missouri Valley Conference.

I pocked Bradley because that is really about where I see them finishing. When I was done posting, I noticed that they were in the lead for fifth place and I had this evil little thought, what will Tornado say if MVCfans picks the Braves fifth?

I'm surprised to see all the votes for bradley quite honestly. I know they have owned that 5th place tag for a long time, but they really got a bunch of guys coming back. They return almost as much talent as wichita and MSU.

I could even make an argument for UNI at this spot as well because of the great talent they have to replace. But in my mind, CU has the most questions. They have a couple of good big guys and nobody else if you ask me.

Unlike Wichita and MSU, Bradley has no inside game this season. They are going to have to rely on the outside shot heavily, which is a lot to ask for. If they can pull it off more power to them, but I see them as being more vulnerable to losses from the bottom half in the longrun than the other teams listed.

I went with CU here. Despite good post play, I think they'll struggle a bit in year one under a new (but good) coach.

Pretty sure you meant that the poll will be open until Friday 9/17...but it appears as though there won't be any reason to leave it open that long as Bradley is running away w/ it.

Is there any way that we can see who voted for whom? If this was a public poll, it would be interesting.
