Arkansas State was picked to win their side of the Sun Belt, as what you will about the SB though.

Bears win 77-46

Downing with 15 points(all in the 2nd half) and 5 boards
Patterson with 14 points, 5 boards, 3 steals
Bizoukas with 11 points, 6 boards, 5 assists
Weems with 10 points and 6 boards
Gulley with 8 points and 6 boards

Very impressive yet again. Who knows how good Nevada and ASU will be but to open the season on the road like this can't be ignored. We will still have growing pains but I think it is safe to say that this Bears team will be good

Lolz.

BTW, ASU didn't lose at home last year.

Valley, as a whole, is gonna be good. Still a bit early for the "lolz".

Agreed on the first part. But from what I've seen, I'd put us in the 3-4 range no problem. ISUb and UE are up in the air and I think UNI is right there with us

That is only true if you start keeping track at game 5. According to ESPN's site, ASU lost their first four home games last year, including a loss to your school!

Still too early to call for anything crazy, but you cannot start a season better with as many question marks we had with our new comers. Everyone who plays seems to have a soft touch.

Agreed. I can tell MSU hasn't lost a beat. People could be just as wrong about the WAC and Sun Belt predictions as they are with Valley predictions and MSU's placement. So far, MSU's first two opponents haven't won a game. I just think PeKaph is being a little too cute, too quick.

Maybe you should actually click on the Box Score links for those games

I think Arkansas State was in the Preseason NIT and those were all on neutral courts.

I can see why Arkansas State was undefeated at home though. Lyon College, Alabama State, Savannah State, Central Baptist College, along with all of those pesky Sun Belt foes. Quite the home slate.

Wrong. We didn't play them at Arkansas State last year. We played them in the pre season NIT in 2010. In Knoxville TN. And then again later at JQH. Both of those games were much closer than this one.

Okay, that makes sense.
