Gophers score 5 straight to cut the lead for Indiana State to 3. Five minutes to play.

Tree fans:
How in the world is Justin Gant not starting? Maybe Indiana State gets that freshman of the year a year later than expected.
Odum is playing great, finally looking to score.

Richard and Walker are both better than Gant defensively. Lansing likes that Richard is able to stretch the floor at the 4 spot.

Gant is going to be very good, but he, Kitchell, and Mahurin will be rotated by whoever has the hot hand that day for the time being I'm sure. If Printy/McWhorter go into a prolonged slump, I wouldn't be surprised to see one of those three start at the 4 and Carl moved out to the 3. Lansing has said he likes Lathan's energy off the bench.

Minny leads by 3 with 1 30 left. This is one helluva ball game.

Indiana State deserved to win this one. Doesn't look good right now though.

Minnesota is really shooting well down the stretch.

True. Indiana State was the better team for 35 minutes but Minnesota made the plays down the stretch. Too bad - would have been a nice win for the Sycs and the Valley.

Not sure I'd go that far. Some ugly things in the second half with some big defensive lapses (Welch). Odum and Lathan combined for 10 TO's. Tubby made some fantastic halftime adjustments.

However, it was the best shooting game of the year for ISUb...but when you give up over 50% shooting from the field AND from 3 point land, you're gonna have issues.

Good showing, but definitely things to learn from and improve on. I'd still call it the best 40 minutes of bball for state this year.

This was a very positive 30 minutes of play.....only to be followed by a lousy last 10 minutes. This team is sooooo inconsistent it's beyond frustrating. The defense disappeared in the last 5 minutes and Minnesota did whatever they wanted to. THIS TEAM HAS TO DEVELOP A KILLER INSTINCT. I'm so sick and tired of getting a comfortable lead only to relax and let the other team right back in....and today it killed us. We let the Gophers go on that last run and once they got even they poured it on....something we never seem to do.

Sorry MVC for blowing this RPI boost for everyone.

In a matter of four minutes, the Sycs lead went from 58-49 to a one point deficit. Take away that stretch and the Sycs win. My brief recap - www.mvcfans.com
