I thought McCaffrey was classless even before he took over at Iowa. He has now coached in the McLeod center twice and has 3 technical fouls in those games. His teams have also lost by 17 and 20 points respectively. I would guarantee he would love to never come back to the McLeod again.

He really did fly off the handle. He was warned in the first half, and was all over the refs the entire game. He needed to be escorted by police off the court. He did not want to leave after getting kicked out. That was a crazy game. We shot 29-33 from the line while Iowa was 3-9. And we were 11-21 from 3pt while Iowa was 1-12. That will win you a lot of games.

Television didn't really show what McCaffrey did to get his technicals, so thanks for that. They did show him getting the police escort off the floor, and that was pretty awesome.

The Iowa message boards are hilarious tonight. Most of them want to cancel the series with UNI. If Iowa cancels their series with Drake I'm going to blame UNI

My opinion having only watched a few minutes of this on ESPN 360: if the officials felt the urge to call 4 technicals, they weren't officiating very well...

I loved almost every minute of that game. Fran and his DBag assistant both got t'ed up during a crucial moment in a very close (at the time) game. One play later an Iowa player get's t'ed up resulting in his 5th foul with 10 minutes left in the half. A few more minutes go by and Fran is t'ed up again. He refuses to leave the arena and proceeds to chase the ref around the court until the ref motions for a police officer to escort Fran off the court.

The Hawks have no discipline and it's obvious why after seeing the actions of their coaching staff.

All in all, this is the most entertaining game I've ever experienced live.

Full disclosure here, I am a Creighton fan first and a Hawkeye fan second. Some notes...

There was certainly some suspect officiating in the game, but that is not why Iowa lost. UNI wins this game 9 times out of 10, IMO. However, the Panthers are not 20 points better than the Hawks. Iowa has improved since they played Creighton, and it is in the Valley's best interest that the Hawks start winning (outside of Drake of course). Fran's technicals took away any shot of keeping the game close, but I hope they serve to motivate his players to compete with a similar intensity. You can knock him all you want, but I'd take his attitude/fight over the Lickliter's any day of the week.

I am embarrassed for the Hawkeye fans who want to cancel the series based on this game alone. Hopefully Gary Barta (Iowa's AD) makes the right decision.

Tuttle reminds me of McDermott and is going to be a pain over the next four years.

Are there any more Koch brothers in the pipeline? I sure hope not! Was impressed with Jake's range.

It's crazy how this game mirrored the Creighton-Nebraska game...and then took it to another level. UNI scored something like 10 points in 20 game seconds during the whole fiasco.

for his first Technical, Fran smacked a cup of something(water probably, it almost looked like powder) into the media table and the crowd behind his bench, just totally lost it. The thing is, the call that he flipped put on was clearly a good call, at least from where I was sitting. The second T was obviously coming and could have been called a half dozen times before it actually was.

Good win, UNI has a couple of tough games coming up with Wisconsin Milwaukee and Ohio. Both only have one loss on the year.

For all of the talk earlier in this thread about not taking UNI and the spread, they have beaten the spread 6 times this year and have "blown out" (20 point win or more) 18 times the last 5 years or so

I went with UNI! Was a little worried with the slow start but it all worked out.

Someone took the time to create a youtube video with every single foul on Iowa. I have to admit, the officiating looks pretty one-sided when you show nothing but fouls on one team The technicals start at 4:25.
