Jordan Jahr

It is being report that Sophomore Jordan Jahr has broken his foot and will not play the rest of this season.
He is a forward that Evansville was counting on for this year. This is a major loss for the Aces.
If this is correct, can he still qualify for a medical redshirt?

I believe the rule is if he has played in 20% of the teams games, he woun't qualify. By my count Evansville has played 8 out of 30 scheduled games which is 27% of the scheduled games. I believe Evansville can petion the NCAA, but I don't know exactly how that works.

That's too bad. Sorry to hear that, Aces.

This far into the season I think a medical redshirt would be tough to get.

Sorry to hear that for his sake and for UE's. I tend to root for Evansville when not playing my team so good luck Aces.

Running the question through Google, it appears to me that it takes less than 30% of a teams games for a medical redshirt, and the injury cannot happen past the mid point of a season. He should be eligible for it.

I think exhibition games also count. I'll have to see what Wragge's numbers were last year. I recall he played 1 sec in the game against Iowa State and it was the last game he could play in before losing the year. I'd be surprised if Jahr would qualify, but I hope he does.

I wonder if an argument could be made based on minutes played, but it looks like he has 131min. in the books already and in comparison to others he would probably be considered a solid contributor.

Very unfortunate and a tough loss for a team searching for some answers right now.

Personally, I expected Jordan to be a better player at the end of his career than Colt Ryan. I think he's that good.

I hope he recovers fully.
