Questions Of The Day - WSU vs. Chicago St Game Thread

Postby Aargh » December 14th, 2011, 5:40 pm

Will the Shox be able to hold off that great Chicago State team for an entire 40 minutes?

Who will Marshall sub in AFTER the walkons - the team managers or the cheerleaders (please select male or female cheerleaders)?

Will crickets be heard chirping in the normally raucous CKA?

Will the leading scorer and rebounder be players averaging under 5 minutes a game to this point?

How many freshmen and walkons is it possible to put on the floor at the same time?

Is it bad to tempt karma this way?

Tempting karma is usually dangerous, for she is a righteous bitch.

However, Chicago State sucks so bad that all the bad karma in the world cannot cause WSU to win by less than 20.

Shox up 28-15.. 8:24 left in the first half.

Make that 30-15.

2 fouls on Orukpe and 2 fouls on Cotton. Subs started rotating in early and often. Everybody but the one walkon has gotten in the game. There have been stretches with only one starter on the floor.

Shox are 12/12 from the line.

Lead hits 20 with 5:05 left in the first half. The Shox are playing deep bench quite a bit.

This could hit 50, unless Marshall tells the players to stop shooting. Especially the layup drills they've been running lately.

Lead hits 40 for the first time with 12+ minutes left.

WSU - 69
CSU - 28

Anacreon is winning the dunking contest. He had a windmill dunk with a guy trying to defend in transition. The guy defending went to the locker room with a bloody nose. Kyles and Orukpe have lob dunks. Murry had a skied "elbows above the rim" dunk. Stutz has a couple of two-hand jams.

The Next game will be better. It's against a D2 team.

Marshall is having Orukpe shoot 2 throws on a T. He missed both after being 7/8 so far this year.

Yes

In a great display of constraint, Marshall only plyed people who had attended a practice.

No. 10 steals, probably that many dunks - some of them epic, got some crowd reaction

Aargh wrote:Will the leading scorer and rebounder be players averaging under 5 minutes a game to this point?
Almost. Ben Smith got 22 off the bench to lead the Shox and get his career best. Shox got 52 points off the bench. Everyone but the walkon scored.
Murry and Jake White (28 total minutes before this game) tied for the rebounding lead with 8 each.

The answer is obviously 5 - and I believe that combination was on the floor for a few minutes.
