Overall average margin in conference games: 10.6 points.

By team, margins of victory only. Best and worst numbers highlighted.

I like to look at it in terms of adjusted efficiency (Pyth*Points Per 100 possessions).

So basically UNI either loses painfully close, or wins by a hefty margin.

No, I would say that's Evansville. From the OP they're avg. loss is by less than 2 points but avg. win by almost 15. I still think that team is going to finish high if they can develop a little more outside of Colt Ryan.

UNI has lost by some big margins this year (SMC, Ohio, UE). CU being the only real "painfully close" one.

That's my interpretation at least

Just to be clear, the numbers are only for the first five MVC games, so St. Mary's wouldn't be included.

Ahhh I see that now. I would still say my point holds true in regards to Evansville being the unlucky ones so far

Thought this was interesting, from WCFcourier:
Collectively, Valley teams are averaging more than 70 points per game since the season began. That's up nearly five points from the average a year ago.

Through Tuesday's games, MVC teams are scoring 70.28 points per contest. Over the last 10 seasons, the average has never been higher. During the weekly coaches' teleconference Tuesday, the league coaches responded with a resounding reason for the change: talent.
