ILLINOIS STATE @ EVANSVILLE 1-21

Evansville opens as a 2.5 favorite

Hoping for a new career night for Colt. Parrish Casebier owns a 44 point night against the Red Birds.
It'll take a team effort and several players in double figures for the Aces to win.

Go Aces
Beat the Redbirds

I agree. I would like to see a balanced attack with five in double figures to keep the defense from overloading on one or two players. Hopefully we will rebound a little better too.

I think UNI is going to put some wins together and escape the bottom 4. This game could have major implications for Thursday night in St. Louis.

Solution is for Drake to beat the panthers in Cedar Falls Sunday night in front of another HS crowd. Keep the panthers at the play in level :D

Story from Redbird view:

Redbird men look to shut down Aces' star Ryan

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Illinois State’s basketball team, especially the newcomers, knows what to expect from Colt Ryan this time around. Stopping the Evansville 6-foot-5 sharpshooter is another story.

“He’s just a pure shooter,” said ISU sophomore Jon Ekey........................

Evansville paper:

Winning far more important to UE's Ryan than scoring points

When Colt Ryan finished a point shy of scoring 40 on Wednesday night, the University of Evansville junior didn't need to glance at a box score after the game to review his shooting performance.

That's because his teammates were more than happy to remind him of the shots he didn't make during the 90-67 victory over Bradley University in a Missouri Valley Conference basketball game.

"The guys were really giving me a hard time in the locker room for missing a free throw," said Ryan.

Still, his career-high 39 points was enough to move the guard from Batesville, Ind., into a tie with Jerry Sloan for 20th on the all-time school scoring list with 1,560 career points.................

This sounded rhetorical but I couldn't find it. It may for Illinois State have Thurdays night Implications....

This game could be more about Carmichaels rebounding and presence.

45 - We found there is a pretty nice sports bar with good food and drink on the adjoining north and west corner of the Ford Center. Can't remember the name. Good place to wait for the doors to open.
