I can't remember a conference season where two teams pulled away like this and so many teams where bunched up in the middle. It would have helped the two top teams to have a third team I think at least to have a good record for RPI purposes. Oh well, just hope WSU and Creighton keep winning. Did I just say I hope Creighton keeps winning...the beer and Captain Morgans must be finally hitting me!

Tiebreak situation for third place if the season ended right now

3. Illinois State - 3-2 in round robin
4. Drake - 2-1 in round robin
5. Evansville - 2-2 in round robin
6. MSU - 1-3 in round robin

Drake has MSU, @ISUr, and Evansville all on the schedule yet.

after the next round of games I bet it looks like this.

WSU 11-2

ISU 7-6

UNI 5-8
Indiana St. 5-8

SIU 4-8
BU 1-12

3-5 will eventually be decided between ISU, Drake and Eville. MSU, UNI and Indiana St. will be fighting for 6-8 and SIU will be a lock for 9th and of course BU for 10th. MSU will have a small chance to jump back into the 3-5 tier, but ultimately they will be fighting with UNI and Indiana St to stay out of Thursday. 6th place will be theirs to lose.

Valley tourney will be much like the season. On Friday, the middle teams will beat each other up and have nothing left in the tank to try and take down CU or WSU. At this point, I would be shocked if we don't have a final involving both of those teams. But....this is the valley and I suppose a 3rd place team could emerge and pull an indiana st. As much as a CU/WSU final should help their seeding come tourney time, I would really like to see a 3rd team emerge from the valley and grab the autobid. The more representation the better. After this grueling season, I think any middle of the pack team will be ready for the rigors of a tournament game.

After looking at the schedules, I think UNI and Indiana St have the toughest road. Plus, them already being 1 game behind will make it that much harder to overcome. I will say those 2 teams will finish 7th and 8th.

I actually think Evansville has a shot at home against Creighton. Hard-nosed team with a good coach and some good shooters.
