Murray State loses

Congrats to former Shocker All-American John Cooper, head coach of Tennessee State, for knocking the Racers from the ranks of the unbeaten.

Are they on the bubble now? Will they be if they lose to St. Mary's?

No and no. They could lose in the OVC Championship game and still get in, IMO.

I wonder how far they will drop in the top 25? Does one loss mean they will be crucified? I bet they move to 23-25 in the polls.

Still an at large dance team. I also think they drop to 25th in the polls. And a loss to St Mary's will only hurt their at large seeding. Murray St is no longer the media darlings, chance for Wichita & Creighton to recapture a some national attention.

I was joking... at least about the first part. The Racers' RPI was 37 before the game though and the talking heads don't need much to make a case against a non-BCS team.

You could very easily make a case for them being on, or at least near, the bubble. Dropping a game at home, to a team with an RPI in the 180's, and your RPI is 38. They will now have an RPI around 50 or so? A loss to St. Mary's wouldn't hurt them that bad, but a loss to another putrid team in their conference will, and more conference games won't do anything to help their RPI.

MSU's RPI drops to 53 with a SOS of 265 according to LiveRPI.

For reference....SIU's SOS is up to 122

That is definitely bubble-worthy.
