WSU was unstoppable from 3 land today. Just sick. Not much the Bears could do, we don't have the scorers to keep up, especially when Weems has his head up his ass and Gulley is a no-show.

Ben Smith!

Back to back defensive gems against McD and Weems. Nice!

At least the Patterson/Stutz matchup lived up to expectations. Gotta love two 7 footers that can shoot like that. I don't think Stutz bothered Patterson at all defensively - he shot over him easily and often. Unfortunately the reverse was true as well.

When WSU shoots the 3 like they did tonight no one is going to beat them.

The Shox are almost 60% from the 3 over the past few games. Have to like that. I doubt it will remain that high, but if they can keep hitting them at 45% or better they will continue to be a VERY dangerous team with the way Stutz and Hall can play if the defense spreads out.

Patterson vs Stutz was a good one. I did think Stutz did a good job in the 2nd half on Patterson. He didn't hit near as many shots in the 2nd half.

Fortunately the Shox have been shooting like that since the Drake game. I saw a lot of sportsmanship from the Bears team. Biz apologized to Stutz after the hard foul. A couple of the players had nice chats and hugs at the end of the game. Not a lot of grabbing or flopping but a lot of heart. Enjoyable game and well played by Patterson and Stutz.

Let's be clear. Weems was not cold, was not asleep and did not have his head up his a**.

His 4 of 14 effort was caused by the defense of Ben Smith and Carl Hall.

Likewise, the Bears shooting % of 31 in the 2nd half was largely due to defense.

I always fear Weems. He is really a pure 3 ball shooter. Tonight he came off a ball screen and that 3 ball shot went up so fast, Smith stood no chance to defend it. Swish. Weems does not need much space to get his shot off.

If I was a Bear fan, I would wonder why he did not do that more often all night, but he didn't.

Sometimes, he gets a hang dog look and I am not sure what it means. When he gets that look, he seems less energetic and he starts walking slowly. In a way, it almost looks like he has resigned himself to the notion that the Bears will lose.

I could be very wrong.

Patterson only played 19 minutes.

Is he still hurt? Is it his knees or ankle or both?

The Shockers pushed the ball pretty hard and I wondered, if fast action was hard on Patterson's knees or ankle.

He gave Stutz all he wanted except when Stutz was firing up 3 balls.
