MVCfans.com Predictions - spilt from poll

Postby Aargh » September 29th, 2010, 4:39 pm

The 11 people who have voted for WSU in 3rd (so far) are either too filled with hate to admit the truth or they're delusional.

Those people must have some inside information that indicates WSU will play their second unit unit most of the year. The second unit would be:

Aaron Ellis, Gabe Blair, Ben Smith, David Kyles, and Demetric Williams. There's only one newcomer in that group and he's a physical 6'5" JuCo wing with a good track record of hitting 3's. That group might finish 3rd.

Do you think that team will be able to win in Des Moines this year?

Good question. Here's one for you:

Will Drake make it into the playin round for the 9th time in 11 years?

The funny thing is that Drake has been ranked more recently than WSU, won a MVC regular season AND tournament title more recently, and played in the NCAAs more recently. And two of the last three years you've played on Thursday night too.

Here's a question: Will WSU break a quarter century drought of winning the MVC tourney this year? I think every school has at least one since the Shox have cut down the nets in St Louis.

Wow, there's something I never thought I'd see....a Panther standing up for the Bulldogs.

That is a funny thing. You could also substitute our "flagship representatives" of SIU and CU in for WSU and it would still be true. In fact, you could use 8 of the other 9 remaining Valley institutions in for that riddle and it would make sense. You really slammed the door there Panther fan. In essence, this just proves how bad our league has been the last 3 years. Be proud.

So the league has been bad, and the runner up is bringing back all but their best player from last year and they are favored to win. So we're in for yet another bad year for the MVC?

I don't buy that the league has been that bad.

You should.
UNI was exceptional last year.
Past that was very mediocre.
Both 2 and 3 were quick outs in the NIT.
