Best game of the year?

Postby hot nuts » February 21st, 2012, 9:43 pm

Wow, a great Evansville v Creighton game! What has been the best so far? The games that immediately come to mind for me:

Evansville at Creighton, Creighton at Northern Iowa, Evansville at Illinois State, Northern Iowa at Evansville, Wichita State at Drake, both Evansville/Indiana State games, Creighton at Missouri State.

I'm sure I'm missing some....wow, what a season.

WSU at Drake has to be the winner, it went to 3OT. Only loss this calendar year for WSU.

Would have been the best game of the year minus the D-League officiating crew. Easily the best individual performance of the year, maybe even nationally. Ryan was sure fun to watch. I don't understand why he shot a 23-footer down by 1 at the end though.

Can I assume your team lost? Seems to be the opinion of every losing team.

Not an Evansville fan and am insulted that you would think as such. :buddies:
Just an honest observation. I thought the game was really good but there were some questionable calls, especially at the end, that seemed to go in one team's direction. That is all.

Here is what I think:

Ryan did not want to penetrate because he knew the referee was not going to call a foul, even if the foul was obvious.

Ryan did not want to put the ball on the floor and dribble drive because he did not want to lose it.

I believe he was within his range and believed that with the space he had, go for it.

Of course, he does not have time to think about all the options :)
There is no difference between basketball and life. Give both your best and ignore the "fans" on the sideline.

A deep three also has the potential for a long rebound and thus a second chance opportunity in the event of a miss.
