I voted for Simmons because what he's already done in getting the Aces ready to play. He dropped the weight to give himself and the team a can-do attitude. He has an OoC schedule that is second to none in the MVC.
He has an experience team, minus 1 player, that came together late last season with wins over #22 UNI and WSU. I think he'll be up to the chore of 'ROCKIN ROBERTS' for its final season with a far better season than what has been expressed on theses boards.

If Coach of the Year was based off of pounds lost, Simmons would win it in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, that's not a factor in the award.

Coaches projected at 4th and beyond have better chances at receiving the award because they can overachieve. The teams picked in the top 3 are expected to do so they get less consideration. It's safe to say there is an abundance of koolaid this time of the year for some fans. More power to yah. I just hope you don't blow your brains out if your teams don't meet the desired and lofty expectations.

Voted for Marshall, basically he has a track record as a solid winner, WSU has been consistently getting better under him and are the clear favorite to win the conference. However, I really dont see why weight loss shouldn't be a factor......of course if you factor in weight loss, wouldn't Lowery be the clear favorite.....he has lost about 5,000 lbs. of "cant miss" recruits and about 100,000 lbs. of fans :D

When are they going to change it to "the winning coach of the MVC award?"

If Evansville finishes better than 7th I think they deserve an ESPY.

And I wish the same for you in your first conference defeat at CKA this season

I hope you're not referring to your team, but if you are, and if it did happen, then yes I would consider possible brain-blowing exercises.

I agree with this and while I think the pre-season tab will be Marshall, I see him as having a more difficult time "living with expectations." In other words, if WSU wins, it will be more of by how much and not just the winning that will determine if Marshall actually wins it. Note that Jacobson/UNI won by a large margin last year after being tabbed. I'm thinking WSU needs that 2-3 game cushion to be comfortable.

I think Cuonzo might actually have a better shot as MSU will likely not be picked to win and if they can, he will get that bump.

Any other coach will have to such surprising improvement (picked 9th finish 3rd) and have WSU only win by a game or win the conference.

It will be Marshall or the coach of the team that finishes in first.
