Two questions dominate the start of any conversation Creighton fans have with guard Grant Gibbs.
First, how’s your knee feeling?
“I think it’s probably felt better this summer than it did last summer,” said Gibbs, who has battled recurring problems with tendinitis. “That’s a good sign.”
Second, any chance you’ll have an opportunity to play for Creighton beyond this season?
“I’ll probably try to apply for it,” said Gibbs, referring to a waiver that would give him a sixth season of eligibility. “From what I’ve been told by people that deal with that kind of thing, I don’t think the odds are extremely high. But we’ll see where I’m at after next year, and if it seems viable, we’ll give it a shot.”
