There is a real influx in D-I transfer talent in the MVC this year. Few are being talked about, so here's a brief rundown of players that will play this year.


Malcolm Armstead (WSU): 6-0, 205 lb senior PG

Oregon (2009-11) : At Oregon as a junior, he averaged 8.6 points as the fourth-leading scorer, and 4.4 assists (167 total) in 2010-11... Had 52 starts in two seasons... He also set Oregon's season record with 89 steals, topping his own mark of 65 from 2010... As a junior, made 43 percent of his shots, 32.3 percent from three-point range, and led team in scoring two times, including a season-high 22 against Stanford... As a sophomore at Oregon, he played in all 32 games, a starter in 27 outings ... He broke the school record for steals in a season with 65... Led the team in assists (138, 4.3 apg) and steals (65, 2.0 spg) ... Ranked second on the squad in scoring (10.2 ppg) ... Finished second in the Pac-10 in steals, while ranking third in both assists and assist to turnover ratio (1.7) ... Had 15 double-digit scoring efforts, including three 20-point games ... Tallied a career-high 12 assists (2 turnovers) in a home overtime win against UCLA ... Scored a career-high 23 points (9-of-14 field goals, 5-of-6 on 3-pointers) in Dec. 22 home win over Idaho State.

Manny Arop (Indiana State): 6-6, 215 lb junior F

2010-11 (As A Sophomore): Appeared in 28 games for Gonzaga, getting the start in eight contests...scored 15 points and four rebounds against Marquette in 22 minutes of action...set a career-high 16 points on the road against nationally ranked Notre Dame...tied career-high with 10 rebounds at home against Oklahoma State...averaged 4.6 points per game and 2.6 rebounds per game.

2009-10 (As a Freshman): Appeared in 31 games for Gonzaga... played a season-high 24 minutes at home against Wake Forest on a 4-for-8 night from the floor for a total of nine points... set a season-high with 13 points at home against San Diego State... season-high with 10 rebounds against CS Bakersfield in final regular season game...suffered a broken foot in West Coast Conference Tournament semifinal, had surgery and missed the NCAA Tournament...Played for Canada's Junior Men's National Team at the FIBA U19 World Championship in New Zealand, helping Canada to seventh place.

Chris Hines (Drake): 6-0, 185 lb senior G

College -- Hines played three seasons at Utah (2009-12) after redshirting his first year in 2008-09. Last year, as a redshirt-junior, he started 26 of the Utes' 29 games and ranked second on the team in scoring (9.6), while leading the team in three-point field goals (66), competing in the Pac-12. Playing 30.4 minutes per game (2nd on team), Hines also added 2.3 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game.

Desmar Jackson (SIU): 6-5, 175 lb junior G

University of Wyoming (2009-11)
Led the team in scoring as a sophomore in 2011 with 14.6 points per game...Ranked fifth in the Mountain West Conference in scoring and 13th in rebounding...In a game against nationally ranked BYU, Jackson had a season-high 23 points...Led the team in scoring 14 times and scored in double figures in 25 of 30 games...In 2010, he averaged 11.8 points and was named to the CollegeInsider.com Freshman All-America Team.
