Easily the weakest ndsu softball team in the last 10 years. Several 40+ win teams in that span, like the team that won the Oklahoma Regional in 2010. Last year's bison softball team was 8-2 vs the B1G, but this year was down with lots of youth.

If you look at the Bison Ooc schedule you'll see a lot of high level early season competition which resulted in quite a few L's while young players were getting their feet wet. Where's the comp on Valpo's Sch? Pretty OVc, MVC, Summit and Horizon heavy.

You are correct, this was a down year regarding OOC scheduling for our softball team. We have plenty of previous success 2-3 years before this last season, but are now in year 3 with a new coach that has taken us back to our winning ways (28-23 this season, including that 1-0 loss at #9 Alabama early in the season). We went to the NCAA tourney last season with a losing record, similar to NDSU this season.

Of note, we were 3-0 versus the Summit this season, including a 7-3 victory over your regular season champion, IUPUI. We had another win versus South Dakota 5-4, who finished 10-8 in your conference, as well as a 3-1 victory against South Dakota State, who was second to last.

If we go with direct comparisons in the regular season, NDSU went 1-2 against IUPUI, 1-2 against South Dakota, and 3-0 versus SDSU (5-4 total). We were 3-0. We win :buddies:!

If what you were arguing was any semblance of the truth, I would be happy to concede. But alas, it is not.

NDSU had a terrible season by their standards and a crappy RPI of 155, but they are still 50+ clear of Valpos RPI, and you had with a winning record. What does that tell you. Play ndsu's OOC schedule, then get back to me. Ndsu clearly the better team in 2017 based on any objective measure.

Ok, how about baseball? The situation in RPI is reversed here, where we are 50 slots better than NDSU, though we have the losing record, and they have the winning record. Is that a better pissing match? :D

For real. No one is getting added to a conference because of baseball or softball. In college sports you get added because of football or men's basketball. (Notice that UCONN isn't getting invited to the Big East or the ACC because of their women's basketball team.)
