id rather see 2-3 teams from mid majors in the tourney over team #8 from Big Ten or ACC.

I think that statement is even true for some P5 fans (as unless it is your conference or school most prefer the supposed Cinderella story) - the NCAA could put a Cap of say 5 teams (though I would prefer 4 - 1 to each region) from any respective conference. Still would weight the tourney to the P5 but the mid's would potentially get a few more teams into the tourney.

Anyone who is a fan of said "mid-major" teams will say this. However, the fact of the matter is we are in the minority. While people are said to love to see an Cinderella story they in fact do not. They may want to see a couple of crazy upsets and S16 teams, but in the end they want the best teams in the Championship. The ratings actually bear this out. Butler being the in the Championship two years in a row was terrible for the ratings. So in the end it is less likely the "mid-major" schools get the benefit of the doubt. Ratings are king and P5 teams provide those especially in the later rounds of the tournament.

What is Fargo's obsession with filling their sports stations with MVC talk?

It's just strange.

the 2 11am-1pm guys are diehard college basketball guys.

1 was West Virginia play by play guy so they really been banging the drum to get ndsu into MVC.

but Mr Reynolds basically said what all of us in Fargo/NDSU are realizing.

MVC wants to be a small bus league.. especially the private schools.

oh well. good luck MVC

Great. Feel free to take your daily plain from the MVC board back to Fargo and keep flying around from Fargo to Brookings to Oral Roberts and Denver....

The one conference NDSU cares about the most is the MVCF, not the Summit. Gotta remember that.

actually the Mountain West/MAC is what NDSU cares about, but after beating 4 of their FBS teams they won't invite NDSU either :(

------------------------------

Update: NDSU play by play guy thinks even visiting OMAHA is a huge slap in the face to NDSU... and if Valpo/Milwaukee goto MVC then the Horizon will go after IPFW, IUPUI and the Summit will be a mess.

if Valpo/Milwaukee/Omaha leaves , the summit only has 5 baseball teams and NDSU will be forced to "Go Big or Go Home"

its gonna be pretty interesting few months.
