Mason transferring from Drake

Freshman Micah Mason just tweeted that he won't be playing for Drake next season. I think he was 4th in the country in 3-point percentage.

He had a lot of health issues, and I wish him well in whatever he does. Seemed like a good kid.

Won't be playing for Drake (but staying as a student) or transferring from Drake? He was quite a shooter.

Wouldn't put too much stock in this until Drake has a new coach. Not uncommon for players to be disappointed when their coach leaves or is fired.

Per article linked on DrakeNation from PA, he was going to transfer anyway. Wants to be closer to home (partly because of his dietary issues).

Even with Phelps as coach (i.e. offense not helping him get good looks), he shot over 50% from 3.
