Nov. 17 – Tennessee State
Nov. 21 – At Arkansas-Little Rock
Nov. 26 – South Dakota (Illinois State Classic)
Nov. 27 – Louisiana-Monroe (Illinois State Classic)
Nov. 28 – Jackson State (Illinois State Classic)
Dec. 1 – UNLV (MWC-MVC Challenge)
Dec. 4 – Montana State
Dec. 8 – Ohio

Also fitting in there somewhere are home games against SIU-Edwardsville and UIC and a road game at North Carolina-Wilmington. The Redbirds have opted to wait a year to play the return game of last year’s Bracket Buster at Morehead State

Wasn't Jank on record as saying this year's schedule was going to be better than last year? He's becoming the Bill Snyder of college basketball scheduling. I sure hope the ticket prices haven't gone up.

It is better...

Every ISU fan should send Elgin a 'Thank You' note for handing you your best game against UNLV...hell, include Ohio in that, too (I'm guessing that's the second-best game).

I know scheduling is a challenge, but at least every once in a while a good game will fall in your lap. A couple of bad schedules in a row can be attributed to circumstance, this has to be by design. And even if it is, you have to question that motive unless the goal is to almost make the NCAA tournament every year.

Our schedule has "run at NIT berth" written all over it.

Doesn't happen often does it? The Aces had this as well a few years ago, playing Loyola (Chi) or Ill (Chi), I forget, twice in the same season...about a week apart. Not sure if that speaks for the difficulties in scheduling or what.

This has become a bit more frequent. Maybe not among Valley schools. It used to be a sign of scheduling desperation, but as it has become difficult for quality mids to schedule home games, some teams have started to do this in recent years.

I agree. You just don't see many teams having to schedule two games from the same non-con opponent in the same year. It's really bizarre.

Wednesday Nov. 17 TEXAS-SAN ANTONIO
Sunday Nov. 21 At Indiana
Wednesday Nov. 24 At Middle Tennessee
Saturday Nov. 27 At Butler
Sunday Dec. 5 At Air Force
Wednesday Dec. 8 NORTH CAROLINA
Saturday Dec. 11 MARYLAND-EASTERN SHORE

Texas San Antonio was a 20 game winner last year
IU was similar in games won as UE in the Big Ten
MTSU was a 19-13 team and won the Sunbelt Eastern Conference
Then the National Runner up with Butler at Hinkle Fieldhouse is next
The MWC Challenge team at Air Force who went 10-21 last year
UNC comes to Roberts Stadium, the Aces will have their hands full
and then Maryland East Shores comes to Roberts before the Aces take MTSU at home

The Aces play two teams that are strong over all. A conference winner on the road then plays Butler away , UNC at home, and Air Force at the Academy before playing MTSU again at home. I think it a great tool to give a team a look at what conference play will be like before it starts.

The funny thing is that the Valley's worst team (UE) has it's best non-conference schedule.

Good for their attendance v. UNC - bad for their record, RPI and, subsequently, the entire league's RPI if they go winless (which they might with all those road games).

This is the schedule WSU (or fill in the MVC-contender-here) should have.

Alot easier to schedule when no one thinks it's a risk to play you..regardless of the venue. But heck, the game has to be played. Go ahead and take one of the big boys down a notch! :)
