Iowa State couldn't miss, Drake couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Here's hoping it was one of those fluke nights. If not, we need to start up a collection for DUbulldog's beer fund.

Break it down for us CU fans. How good is ISU? What style do they utilize?

ISU is a decent team, but Drake was truly awful tonight.

ISU pushes the ball and gets good shots early in the shot clock. They're not overly big. They start 3 guards and a 6-6 power forward. The center is 6-11, but his offensive game is basically shooting 3's and he's not physical at all.

They're well coached and fundamentally sound, but Hoiberg's coaching style is drastically different than McDermott's. While McD has dozens of sets, Hoiberg really doesn't run many sets. His style is mostly to put his guys in a position to make plays and allowing them to do it.

Which is how you make your team win.

You know the kind of style McDermott teams play? ISU does the opposite of that. They run, they press, they shoot a ton of 3s. They're going to run into a lot of problems with more talented teams that can actually keep up with them. I'm guessing ISU is NIT-caliber this year.

Sounds like something we won't match up very well with. We o have a 6'6" back up center...does that count for anything?

We'll see on Sunday.

Maybe McDermott should yell out sets when ISU is on offense and some of the holdovers from last year will get confused.

At least if they aren't physical Kenny Lawson should feel comfortable.

Kenny Lawson and this kid will get along just fine then...
