That's three games influenced by refs that have gone against the MVC.

SIU gets a T and loses to NE
CU gets robbed at Iowa St
Drake gets screwed when the game was theirs.

I heard the coach say he did see on the TV interview. He had no remorse about the T being called. He said his team deserved to win.

For those reading the board who might officiate.....

If it's a rule that a "spike" is an automatic technical, is there any official definition of a spike. In other words, are the officials allowed to differentiate between a spike made in anger that goes 30 feet in the air vs one that is made in celebration, and barely goes above the player's head?

He flat out asked his players at the press conference if they knew who had spiked it, because he hadn't seen the ball spiked....but he did see the ball in the air.

Wow, that's an unvbelievable call. To literally change the outcome of a game is inexcusable.

Follow up question: Can the refs go to replay for that technical or just elbows? Reminds me of Zidan's head butt at world cup where I don't think they saw it except on video screen. (of course Zidan's head butt deserved Red card and Hawley's "spike" ... very iffy)

Looking at the replay, the ball definitely went higher than I originally thought.

Still doesn't change my opinion about the call.

If he had spiked it and someone had to go get the ball or something I could see it, but he caught it. Seems like a good opportunity for a warning, not a technical foul.
