MVC Coaches on the Hot Seat

If you are a fan of a struggling program, how long is the leash on your current coach?

Full recognition that most MVC teams are unlikely to make a move in the upcoming offseason. However, it seems like there a handful of places where next year is make or break for the current regime.

Is this the case for your team?

Off hand I think:

Giacoletti, Lusk, and possibly Muller are on the hot seat.

Giacoletti is obvious. Drake is really bad again.

Lusk has been pretty mediocre if not bad as MSU coach. He does have them doing better than problem anyone expected after their non-con, but still has to be on the hot seat.

I think Muller needs to be there too. There are some pretty darn good players on ISUr and there have been the last few years. They seem to underperform with Muller as the coach.

One. Year. Left.

Nothing but a revolving door of players. Athletic, but never reach their potential. No reason we should be fighting to miss Thursday in year 4. It should be fighting to win conference titles.

His only reprieve is his history with the University as a player.

I don't see Drake dumping Giacolletti for a bit. Yes they're bad but he had to completely rebuild the Phelps Dumpster Fire. He's leaning on transfers to bridge the gap right now while his top players are developing as freshmen and sophomores. Of course, I like beating Drake, so I'm fine if they continue to flounder. But a better Drake = a better conference
[Insert snappy comeback]

Lusk is not going to be fired. SWMO doesn't have the money (or cows) to do that.

Yeah, I think Giacoletti is safe this year, but his seat will be quite warm next season. From the beginning, he said year 3 was when we could start judging him. This is year 3, and believe me, it hasn't been pretty.

Giacoletti, Lusk, Simmons, Hinson Moser and Muller all have two more years. Some will win enough to stay and some won't. Marshall, Jacobson, and Lansing are the only safe coaches.

Marty's seat is definitely under the most pressure.
