Per Jeff Goodman on Twitter -

Drake's Kale Abrahamsson is transferring for the 2nd time. Doubt Drake fans will lose sleep over the league LVP leaving their team.

I've heard, even when he was in HS, he and his family were cancers to deal with.

He seems like a head case.

I assume he's a grad transfer at this point.

Yes, he is a graduate transfer. Not sure who would want him.

The feeling among Drake fans at this news is somewhere close to euphoria.

Sounds like this is the best move for Drake. They have some nice young talent and it sounds like he didn't do anything to really make the team better outside of going off a couple of times in noncon play.

What coach would bring this guy in? He would be on his third team. Clearly there is something wrong with him if he can't make it work at two previous destinations.

A D2 team would. Or a low level team who thinks a guy can put them over the top. He has some offensive ability.

Hope he goes as far away from Iowa as possible. He and his family have been stinking this place up for too long
[Insert snappy comeback]

“We just kind of came to an agreement,” coach Ray Giacoletti said, “that it was probably best for both parties.”

This quote tells me that it might not have been the player's decision to leave.

Here's the thing.....Giacoletti benched Abrahamson for the last game of the regular season, and it was a rare victory. Abrahamson played only 3 minutes in St Louis, and Drake lost by 2 points (I think they were minus 6 in the 3 minutes he was in the game). The team played better when he wasn't in there. Everybody playing ahead of him was a freshman or sophomore. He was unlikely to get many minutes in the upcoming season. He's not the kind of guy who would be happy as an end of bench 5th year senior. Definitely better for both parties that he move on.

Wholeheartedly agree with Drake fans that say this will be addition by subtraction. Abrahamson seemed to be cancer, and when he went against Valley competition, his numbers dropped off the map.

Honestly think DU could really help themselves by finding a good PG and relegating Woodward to backup play.

Next season in the non-con, think DU, MSU and BU all improve dramatically which will really help out the MVC. 8-)
