NCAA Tournament - Wichita St vs Vanderbilt game thread

Curious to know WSU or others thoughts on this game? I did hear Vanderbilt is pretty talented but underachieving this year. Looks like they may have a big frontline?

Some will disagree but I thought the Shox got jobbed with being this low a seed and being in the play in game. They are better than some of the teams ahead of them. Just no respect given for teams from non power conferences.

I'd love to see them (or UNI or both) make a run to make the selection committee look foolish.

This years Vandy at its best is better than this years Wichita at its best.
This years average Wichita performance is better than this years average Vandy performance.
This years worst Wichita performance is better than this years worst Vandy performance.

Wichita wins this by 6 unless Vandy plays like it's capable.

It's going to be interesting. They are a tall team. The have a 7'0 center and a 7'1 PF that can shoot 3s (not great, but still can). The fact that we already play an undersized PF doesn't help. Wessel will be giving up 9 inches if they get matched up.

If WSU shows up and shoots better than 20 % from 3 (like we didn't do in our 3 conference losses) then WSU wins by double digits. If we struggle shooting, it could get ugly.

Should be a fun game - I am optimistic about our chances.

Sorta wild to think this is the MVC's first at-large play in game. From about 1999-2006, our league would have been an almost annual participant had these games existed.

I agree with this. If we shoot decently we win by 10 or so.
