Just Sayin !

So when is WSU leaving?

I think Evansville leaves before WSU.

Then the thread is misleading as I thought WSU was contacting the MWC. I don't see Evansville going anywhere but to the top of the MVC!

With the "cost of attendance" stipends being implemented and falling attendance - I expect Evansville to see the writing on the wall and decide to focus on their core - academics and decide to move to D2.

Not a single penny of taxpayer money goes to Jacobson.
Not a single penny of tax payer money goes tot he fully endowed wrestling coaching position
Not a single penny goes to to the volleyball head coach

All three coaches are 100% paid by private donations. That's close to 1.5 million dollars per year from donors strictly for head coaches. That doesn't include other ear marked donations for coaches.

Try again

Didn't seem to be a problem for Creighton.

Bradley is another school that has a large basketball budget as a private institution.

Or any of the following:
Nova
Xavier
SMU
Seton Hall
Duke
St. Joe's
Dayton
Baylor
St. Bonaventure
Notre Dame
St. Mary's
Princeton
Providence
Yale
Gonzaga
Valpo

All finished in the top 50 of the RPI last year.

Expand that to the top 92, as Evansville finished 93rd last year and we add
Monmouth
Hofstra
Butler
Tulsa
Temple
Vanderbilt
Davidson
George Washington
Syracuse
Brigham Young
Iona
Stanford
Grand Canyon

1/3rd of the top 92 were private schools. Looking back on past years that seems to be about the norm.
Davidson

Almost never do I hear any of them complain about getting their budget to a competitive level.

Clearly dollars spend does not equal games won then.

Again, having an elite coach helps to ensure success BEFORE money to spend kicks in. Have to find the right coach who can recruit (and in-game coach) first.

Then budget kicks in to pay him and keep him at the same institution.

Bradley had not found the right coach since Jim Molinari....hence their awful performance over the years.
