Shamet is the 4th Freshman to get 1st team honors (Doug McDermott, Cleo Littleton, Vernon Yates) and Shamet/McDuffie only the 2nd underclassman pair on the 1st team (Baker/Van Vleet). That's some good company for them.

I figured this thread would come in handy, but I saw no reason to revive it during the season. I knew it would resurface when the time was right.

It will be interesting to see how Shox fans react when they are losing MVC games this year and don't win the Valley and are in the NIT just like they used to be. Hate to say it (not really) but your best days have come and gone. How much longer til Gregg wants to go too?

Jon Rothstein names Shamet the pre-season PoY in the AAC. Kind of interesting, since SMU has a 6'6" PG (Shake Milton) who's predicted to be a first-round draft pick. There's starting to be some speculation among Shocker fans that if Shamet does what he's expected to do, he'll be gone after this season.

Good for him. He's a great player, but it begs the question....why are we posting this on the MVC message board and not the AAC message board?

He no longer provides relevance to this league other than you guys showcasing him to your old competition.

I don't have a problem with it at all. I'm interested in how these 2 players are doing and if they truly make it to the nba. They are no longer in the Valley but they started their careers here.

Plus Aargh is a respectful poster. He's not posting it in an attempt to show superiority. At least in IMO.
