Could possibly end up with back to back games against Xavier...

Congratulations to UNI. Not only a win against a Pac 12 team, but on the road and by 19. Whether AZ St. figures to be at the bottom of their conference or not, that is an excellent win for the Panthers and the Valley. Would love to see more MVC teams pull off such wins.

Bears win 100-27.

Obviously nothing can be taken from this game.

Kendrix getting back into the rotation and went 5-9 from 3 tonight for 19 points. Rousseau was 8-11 from the field for 17 points. Johnson deferred to his teammates to a tune of 6 points and 9 boards but had a Sportscenter worthy throw down. Church had 6 blocks.

First real test is Wednesday in Chicago against DePaul. DePaul is currently down 20 to Rutgers in the second half, 54-34

Neutral site.

No. UNI is better than Arizona State in every way. They should expect to win that game. And they did. Arizona State is not a good team, so that is not an excellent win. Again, not taking anything away from UNI, they handled business. But there is no better way to validate the narrative that crappy 9th place teams in the Pac12 should get tourney bids than for the teams they are stealing those bids from to pretend like beating the crap out of them is a big deal.

I am glad that UNI won. I hope they win again tomorrow. Interested to see that game, as WSU will face OU a month from now.

OU did not look anything less than beatable in their game against Tulane. They eventually figured things out and pulled away but that was much closer of a game than I expected to watch. I think MVC fans should feel comfortable about UNI's chances if either team replicates today's performances. Will be an interesting game for sure.

I'm not sure you can consider DePaul a real test. They were a 200 RPI team last year and appear worse this year. Should be a 20 point victory at least for MSU

Well, it's the first road game and it's not a SWAC team...

The only thing this last game accomplished was no one was hurt, we rested Ruder[ his minutes and practice time will be monitored all year] and we got Kendrix in the flow. If he and Lusk can just find a happy place together it will help a lot. Still hoping at some point we can add McCullough to the mix for 10-15 minutes against some teams; w/o him we just don't have anyone who can go toe to toe with a legitimate post defensively. Martin at 6'8 235 is the only other bulk we have, and he's just not very good defensively. Church is a shot blocker, but can't really hold position against anyone with much size and bulk. We're very vulnerable there, as you can't expect to just outscore everyone once you are playing quality frontlines and teams start to grind you out more.
