UNI lost to Xavier 64-42 in Cincinnati. According to the USA Today article I read, "The Panthers are 17-37 all-time against ranked teams, including 2-17 on the road. Both of those road wins came at Wichita State — last season and in 2006."

UNI shot 4-19 in the first half and had 10 turnovers leading to a 35-12 halftime deficit. Fought back in the second half but really no more than even. A bad loss in how we played and the final score, but not for the opponent. Now have 4 winnable games (3 home, road at Wyoming) before finishing with Iowa in Des Moines and at North Carolina.

Sorry Valley, couldn't get this win for a signature.

There's that stat again. MVC 0-12 in 5 pt or fewer games and now 0-13 in last 13 overall games

Wow MVC teams are shooting blanks recently. We have a lot of young talent but I don't think it is ready for prime time yet.

Evansville gets beat at the buzzer 65-62. Blew a 10 pt 2nd half lead and turned it over twice in the final minute. 2nd straight night they lost a game that they controlled for the majority. MVC 14 straight losses and 0-13 in games decided by 5 or fewer points. Doesn't seem possible

Loyola game was tough. They played a real solid game against a tough opponent. The refs were siding with NC State a bit which is what is expected in a game like this. The worst was the final Loyola possession. They were down 2 then Doyle got hacked and lost the ball but there was no foul call. If they did call the foul he would have been shooting a 1 and 1 with 2 secs left with a chance to tie it. All they can do now is move on to the next game.
