Giacoletti Resigns

This got mentioned in another thread, but I think it is deceiving of it's own. Not sure what brought this about. I'm not sure I've ever heard of a coach resigning 7 games into a season absent a scandal. I'm not sure if this was his idea or not.

Any leak on if Giacoletti self-mutinied or was this a firing?

At least Ray got that win over Simpson. I picked Simpson.

Just watched the press conference. The level of raw passion Ray and Sandy have for Drake is inspiring. Heartbreaking it hasn't worked out.

Where did you watch the press conference at? I haven't seen it posted anywhere.

I think Jeff Rutter will be good in the interim, but he is no miracle worker so I doubt Drake does anything that they wouldn't have under Giacoletti this year at least.

Too bad for Drake that Sandy didn't resign too.

Any idea or rumor where Drake goes with this hire?

I've heard absolutely nothing. most fans think that we need anew AD. Every person I have talked to agrees that she can't be allowed to make a third terrible hire. This is all up to the president. Hopefully he understands what needs to be done and the desperation of the situation. The AD is doing everything she can to promote the interim coach Jeff Rutter. She desperately wants him to pull off some kind of miracle to hopefully save her job. Unfortunately unless something is done soon, we won't have an AD in place to hire a new coach. I think most people would trust our president to make the hire over our AD. He at least has some basketball knowledge.

Three names I heard last weekend: Rob Jeter formerly of UWM, Kareem Richardson at UMKC and Billy Donlon formerly of Wright State.

Those would be underwhelming to say the least. A previously failed HC didn't work. A BCS assistant didn't work. Just give Emmenecker the keys and wish him luck. Another possible option: is Eddie Sutton still alive?
