Aces win 77-69. Won at a tough place to win.

Gutsy win by the Aces. Won on the road very short handed without Willie Wiley and Dru Smith who were out with injuries. Jaylon Brown was a beast once again, but Christian Benzon was the MVP of the game with a career high 18 points.

Shox lack of experience at the guard spots was exposed big time. OSU's guards stroked 3's if given an inch. If they were closely guarded, they had any Shocker defender beat to the basket after their first step.

Brad Underwood (OSU's coach) had OSU Playing Angry, with the D, rebounding, and transition game Marshall likes to run. Shox weren't even playing "Mildly Annoyed".

Three rousing cheers for the Shocks, and UNI, for their sterling performances today. They both stunk up the place.

That's a sign of a pretty decent team, when you can lose good players, and still win on the road at a tough place to win. Might be the deepest Aces team in the last ten years.

Yeah, we would have been so much better off if we had played an rpi 232, 4-6 team from the Ohio Valley.

When a team strives for success and schedules good teams, there are setbacks. When a team strives for mediocrity and schedules accordingly, it's a little easier to get those W's.

Get back with me when Simmons wins a NCoY or even Coach of the Year in the Valley.

This Aces team has great guard play, athletic forwards, attack the basket offensively a lot more than in the past, and play better man to man defense than in years past. The big issue is post play from the 5 spot....Howard and Vujcetic are soft, have trouble finishing in traffic, and always get in foul trouble due to a lack of quickness. Traore can play physical defense and rebound but is very limited offensively. This weak spot will be magnified and exploited in conference play. Depth is a concern right now with Dru Smith and Wiley out with injuries, especially knowing that Simmons, Hall, and Adheke are being redshirted.

Apologies that we don't play Austin Peay School for the Blind every night.

Get back to me when Evansville wins a game of significance this millennium.
