Nor should they lose by 17 at home. And the score didn't really show how bad of a beat down it really was.

What's worse losing by 43 on the road to top 10 team in the country or getting handed to you at home by a mid pack/lower tier team in Big 12? Asking for a friend.

Losing by 43 to anyone, anywhere is worse without question. 17 point loss can be contributed to hot/cold shooting. 43 points is compete domination or one team gave up. Good teams don't do that.

Agree. And it's sad that I wouldn't be surprised to see UNI win Arch Madness and take the auto bid.

Ouch. Nicely played.

9 years - 2007-2008

I remember at the tournament in St. Louis I was talking to a sports announcer whether Drake would be a 4 or 5 seed. WSU was in a Thursday game and Marshall was ejected. UNI had a big win over Southern Illinois also at the tournament that year. Was Barry's last year at Mo State.
Things change.

Last year Oklahoma lost by 44 in the Final Four, I think they were a pretty good team. Not comparing UNI to Oklahoma but for some people to come on here a rip a team cause they lost to possibly the best program in the country on the road is not needed. Then the same people get butt hurt when their team gets mentioned.

How dense are you?

All's that said was losing by 43 is not a good look. No matter who the opponent is. It wasn't a good look for OU either. Can you dispute that?

If not, zip your insecure trap and focus more on Southern Indiana for future scouting.

Don't count on it.

Drake also had a Final Four, and two consecutive elite eight years. Plus a couple NIT years.

One of the most stand out years for the Valley had to be Indiana State in 78-79 being undefeated and winning the championship.

Many fans impression of the Valley and the teams didn't start 5-6 years ago.

That's great and all but I'm not sure what your point is with any of this?

Bradley has a great history! 1950 and 54 saw them as national runner-up with an elite 8 in 55.

Cincinnati, while in the Valley for 13 years, followed Bradley with a sweet 16 in 58, two final fours in 59 and 60, two national championships in 61 and 62, and runner-up in 63.

Then WSU got a final four in 64.

Drake had a good three year run with two elite 8s (70-71) and a final four (69).

Memphis went to the finals in 73...their 6th and final year in the MVC.

Louisville won the MVC 5 of their 11 years in the conference with a final four in 72 and 75 and three additional sweet 16s.

Indiana State took second in 79.

WSU went to the elite 8 in 81.

With the exception of a couple of Tulsa Sweet 16s in 94 and 95, MSU in 99, SIU in 02 and 07, WSU and Bradley in 2006, UNI in 2010, and WSU in 2014, the only notable achievement since 1979 was the WSU final four in 2013. That's 23 years between final fours. There were 11 MVC final fours between 55 and 75.

Now everyone is up to speed on the NCAA dominance of the MVC that used to be.
