I would assume that's very dependent on how your past opponent's AND your past opponent's opponents perform as well. A lot of "ifs" especially with how crappy some of your big name opposition has played this year.

But, for everyone's sake, I hope you are right.

Right now, if you go to rpiforecast.com, it lists WSU at an expected RPI of 45.7 and IlSU at an expected RPI of 57.8.

I decided to run the scenario where they both go 17-1 in their Wizard:
Both WSU and IlSU go 17-1:
WSU 35
IlSU 26

WSU losing twice to IlSU: 46
IlSU losing twice to WSU: 34

So, based on the RPIforecast estimated records, WSU would be a top 50 team, but not IlSU. If they beat everyone else but each other, they should both be top 50 teams.

LanceShock, your analysis echoes my thoughts. Should ISU run the table, their RPI is better than Wichita's should they do the same.

Thus, it's better for the Valley if ISU is the one running the table.

But I can understand the expected backlash from Shocker fans not wanting that to happen. It's human.

Yep, this is a problem

Your logic is backwards

You guys just can't grasp how big an anchor Lusk is.
The Illinois State game we just kept making shot clock buzzer beating 3s. No offensive design or defensive scheme. Talent is all we have.

From a numbers standpoint, both ISUr and WSU fans should root for both teams in all matchups where they aren't facing each other.

The weiner measuring contest over my 18-0 is better than your 18-0 is silly and premature.
