I think the if the Birds play their game, defense the crap out of them and make some timely buckets, Illinois State walks out of the Roundhouse with a win....if not, Shox are really tough at home and will win.

Before the MM injury I would have taken the Redbirds in a close one. Without him I'll pick the shockers by 10.

A little history about this rivalry...

The first meeting was in 1937 which ISU won 41-27.

They didn't meet again until the Redbirds joined the Valley in 1982.

WSU leads the head to head record at 41-40.

WSU's version of Super Bowls include NCAA Tournament games, Sweet 16 games, and Final Fours. Considering yellow is the primary color displayed at every game and it's always full, this game isn't any different in that aspect. Sorry retire12.

The hype for this game is generated by the fact that it's Saturday night (a rare game time now at Koch) and ESPN2. We've done the shirts thing before in front of national tv audiences, Indiana State comes to mind with the checker bowl. It has nothing to do with opponent, but rather the game broadcast. Can't be said the other way around at Illinois State. Sorry if that rubs retire12 and a other Redbird fans the wrong way.
