I think IlSU losing MM and continuing beat everybody except WSU tips this award to Muller, especially since there does appear to be some anti-Marshall bias.

What I think will happen:
POY: Lee
FOY: Shamet
NOY: Johnson
DPOY: Wills
COY: Muller

What I think should happen:
POY: Shamet
FOY: Shamet
NOY: Johnson
DPOY: Wills
COY: Marshall

I have a virtual tie between Wills/Brown for DPOY, and Marshall/Muller for COY. I split the difference.

How I would vote if I could vote for all 10 teams:
POY: (1)Shamet (2)Lee (3)McDuffie
FOY: (1)Shamet (2)Brown (3)Bar
NOY: (1)Johnson (2)Shamet (3)Willis
DPOY: (1)Wills (2)Z. Brown (3)Lee
COY: (1)Marshall (2)Muller (3)Wardle

I would replace Lee with McIntosh if McIntosh had missed a couple games less. Which is an admittedly arbitrary ruling, but I think it matters a little bit for conference POY voting. I would still have McIntosh on my 1st Team with the 3 I voted for POY.

How I would vote if I couldn't vote for WSU:
POY: (1)Lee (2)McIntosh (3)Morgan
FOY: (1)Brown (2)Bar (3)Hodgson
NOY: (1)Johnson (2)Jackson (3)Fayne
DPOY: (1)Wills (2)Lee (3)Bol
COY: (1)Muller (2)Wardle (3)Blank

If it is a requirement to pick a 3rd Coach, I would contemplate not submitting a ballot. Gun to my head, probably Moser.

Should be:

POY: Shamet
DPOY: Lee
NCOY: Johnson
FOY: Shamet
COY: Muller

Will be:

POY: Lee
NCOY: Johnson
DPOY: Brown (should be Wills if not Lee)
FOY: Shamet (very, very close with Brown)
COY: Muller (closer than people would expect with Marshall)

Realistically, I think you can make a pretty strong case for 4 of the 5, excluding Freshman of the Year. That award is a virtual lock for Shamet. The other 4, you can make a good case for more than one person. Should be interesting to see what happens.

I agree. Although I will say; I often rail against the 'green ribbon' attitude, but with Shamet being what should be a near unanimous FOY and 1st Team, I would give NOY to Johnson. If you remove Shamet from NOY, Johnson seems like another lock.

The other 3 I think you can make reasonable arguments for at least 2 people, and I think this year someone legitimately in those arguments will win the awards.

WSU beat writer's ballot: http://www.kansas.com/sports/college/wi ... 50779.html

Interesting comment about not wanting to do COY voting in the future.

Do they all post their picks or just some beat writers?

i think that all media have to report their picks. If they don't they should be ashamed for not being willing to go public.
