I'm sorry your 2nd favorite team flamed out of the NIT already.

Bonk! Wrong again. Show me where I said I was an IU fan? Again, your reading level needs to step up or stay off the internet.

*Conveniently skips over part getting called out for not being able to read while accusing others of not being able to read*

I think your posting history kind of speaks for itself wrt IU.

Who said he wouldn't go? Just go back through the thread. There has been several that said it. One even wanted to bet, that YOU commented on!!!

Maybe he will, maybe he won't. But I think he will certainly entertain it. Like I said, I THINK the IU job is one of a handful he would leave for and there are many on your own board that feel the same way. You can certainly have your own opinions.

Wanting to bet on something doesn't mean you are sure it's going to happen.

Especially when the entire point of the bet post was not a commentary on the likelihood of Marshall's departure, rather a commentary on your hilarious history as a poster on this site.

I think you give him too much credit.

From Andy Katz

Just had a good chat with Wichita State's Gregg Marshall here in Indy. He thinks the Shockers could be top 10 next season. I'm not saying he wouldn't listen to any of these openings, but don't mess with happy is a saying he believes in. My opinion: Would have to be a can't miss for him to leave. Wichita State wants to be like Gonzaga and Butler where the Shockers can get neutral site games against high major schools or home and home series outside of the region.

From Sports Illustrated (online) related to Indiana Basketball Coaching search and the chances of Marshall as a candidate:

Gregg Marshall, Wichita State

There are few candidates on the board who could potentially win the way Knight did at Indiana. No one will ever question Marshall’s fire, coaching acumen and ability to identify and develop players. But multiple athletic directors who’ve explored him as a candidate over the years have come away squeamish, as he’s as overbearing as he is talented. (Texas officials didn’t even kick the tires, which should tell you something.) Marshall’s lack of self-awareness would make the jump from the backwoods of the Valley to the fishbowl of Bloomington a potentially untenable leap. Indiana is one of the few places that could pony up the $4 million annual salary likely needed pay Marshall, but if Tom Crean’s personality wore on people here, it’s hard to imagine Marshall would be received better.

I think NC State would be the place for Marshall. Building it up to beat the teams on HWY 15-501.
He could probably have a Char-Grill every day also.

Kevin Keats was announced as their primary target today.

Yep...Keats sounds about right for NC State.

Marshall isn't leaving the Shockers for the 3rd or 4th best program in a state!

Interesting. I never thought of Marshall as overbearing. But I imagine he doesn't suffer fools lightly. And let's face it some AD'S and college administrators can act pretty foolish in regards to college athletics.
