I am in total agreement with you. That's why no WSU fans made much of the all-conference honors WSU players got.

I'd rather not have "king" status. I'd rather have some competition, which the Valley has been providing less and less of every year lately.

Wichita State made a Final Four and was a #1 seed from the Missouri Valley Conference.

Clearly this move is one they have to and should make....but to act like the Valley is the SWAC is also a joke.

Wichita will be fine without the Valley and the Valley will be fine without Wichita. Everyone move on.

It appears that Jim Harrick was right. Wichita State really was a sleeping giant.

A sleeping giant that has been out of the first weekend of the NCAA tournament just three times in 37 years? Clearly WSU has been the best in the conference the last 6 years. I'd think a giant makes it out of the first weekend at a higher rate than that.

That 1 seed resulted in a first weekend loss.

A school that has 2 national championships in the last 7 years talking down to us and hoping we keep our coach so we can provide good competition is much preferable to a bunch of ankle biters hoping our coach leaves so they can have a chance at competing.
