An "Emergency Meeting" could also just mean one that was not previously scheduled or planned.

As others have stated, there should be at least the framework of a plan in place based on the possibility of WSU leaving. This shouldn't be a surprise and they should not be in a position of panic but instead simply formally putting plans into motion. If they are surprised or there are no plans, then Elgin should be submitting his resignation papers on Sunday.

You are working under the assumption that no plans, talks, etc have happened until this weekend. That would be false. Wichita leaving is not a new development to the league office.

Is this is all planned out...why the need for an emergency meeting?

The word "emergency" was a headline on Twitter to get views. No one in the MVC office called this an "emergency" meeting.

Fair enough...my point was that maybe the Presidents will overrule the AD's and decide to go with 9 next year.

The "emergency" is almost certainly to approve Wichita's departure terms to allow the Shockers to leave and carry forward with a 9 member league in 2017-18 and possibly 18-19 while talking face-to-face about the merits and issues of 9, 10, and 12 team models and potential candidates.

There are no departure terms that need approved. Everything is outlined in the conference bylaws.

Maybe this is just a way for all of them to get a weekend stay in STL paid for with money generated by Wichita State. Par-tay Saturday night, meet for 30 minutes Sunday at 1pm, then hit the links at 2pm.

Just checking to see if Casey had posted any flight tracking for helicopters leaving St. Louis heading to Murray, KY or Valparaiso, IN yet.
